The New Jersey State Fraternal Order of Constables Inc.
First and foremost, we'd like to thank you for taking out this precious time in your day to visit our web site. This web site was designed to educate the great citizens of the State of New Jersey, its many policing agencies, and all its politicians. Many if not all of your questions will be answered here, but if nothing else we know that all the mystery, the misdirection, the misunderstandings, the misleading mistakes that some people make about constables will be resolved here.
What is a Constable?
A Constable by definition is a peace officer with the full statutory powers of arrest without needing a warrant to make said arrest for any and all crimes committed in his or her presence. Just like any other law enforcement officer in this state and any other state. All law enforcement officers in this country received their police powers from the constable. While policeman are mandated to seek out crimes being committed and do whatever they can to prevent those crimes from being committed. Constables protect and serve by upholding and defending your civil and constitutional rights. Constables are not mandated to seek out and prevent crimes from being committed.

Who Can Join?
We invite any and all constables from the State of New Jersey. This means any city, any township, any county, and any municipality, within this state. We do understand that some city and township Council members only allow a one-year resolution term on your appointment as constable; this will not affect your membership. Your membership is renewed annually once a year. At the time of your completed application is submitted you must be an active appointed, commissioned constable. Private Citizens can join as Associate Members to help support the men and women of this organization and sponsor the daily Community Service Activities that this organization provides.
Benefits of Joining
There are several benefits to becoming a member of our organization. Our members become close friends and they have a great time when they get together. Of course we also have a common interest, and we hope to further our cause. To present yourselves as professionals to the law enforcement community. To become many voices when demanding our legislators to enforce the laws that govern us. To help educate each other on the laws that govern us.
